Major Events at Eden

Following the wonderful success of the 2005 Masters Games Field Event at the club, March '07 saw us host the Field Event of the World Police and Fire Games.

After months of efficient and thorough preparation, the day of the event had very early arriving competitors, just around dawn, and a very mixed set of languages, equipment, cultures and nations assembled by 9.00 for the start of the 28 target IFAA round.

Eden volunteers manned the club, the course and the refreshments, and those members enjoyed a terrific day interacting with our 40-odd guests, over a sumptuous lunch and BBQ, and at the end of the day over a beer and as we presented awards.

Feedback from the participants was very positive, complimenting the club on the facilities, course, catering, personnel and atmosphere, with badges and souvenirs, contacts and stories swapped.

All up, we did ourselves many favours as our guests headed off for the rest of the shooting week, at Adelaide and SFA, as they took with them favourable impressions and memories, and we showed again that we could manage a prestigious event excellently.

The next challenge is the 24 target Field Event on 11/10 for the inaugural Australasian Masters competition, when we will again put ourselves on show and host visitors from the Australasian region.

A big year for the club - a lot of work but a lot of benefits, as well.
